Busways will continue to operate bus services in Western Sydney, one of the fastest growing regions in Sydney, after retaining the region’s bus operations following a competitive open tender process.
Busways was awarded the new Greater Sydney Bus Contract 1 by the NSW Government today commencing in December 2023 for the next seven years.
Busways is urging everyone to stay safe and be alert on and around buses as Bus Safety Week kicked off for the eighth annual Bus Safety Week.

Stony Creek Road, Shane Park is closed. The buses will divert and miss 6 stops in each direction.
Diversions will travel from Shane Park Road, Stony Creek Road, Palmyra Avenue, South Creek Road, Eighth Avenue, Second Avenue, Llandilo Road, Spence Road, Government Road, St Marys Road, and back to the normal route. And in reverse on the outbound trip toward Mount Druitt.
Grange Avenue in Schofields is closed due to flooding. School bus service 6052 diverts via South Street and misses one stop.

With almost 1,350 buses operated by Busways in 2023, Bus Safety Week aims to improve the safety of pedestrians, riders, passengers, and drivers, helping to reduce injuries and lives lost on NSW roads.
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February 2023, at Blacktown and Penrith Interchanges buses will depart from different stands to allow for the operation of rail replacement buses whilst trackwork is carried out on the on the main western line between Penrith and Central.
