As a Busways mechanic, you're joining a team dedicated to upholding a strong record of investment and innovation in asset and safety standards. We take pride in being the first operator to introduce a wide range of safety innovations in NSW, for example, emergency exit doors on regional school buses and additional fire extinguishers in vehicles. Our commitment to exceptional standards in fleet presentation and service quality is widely recognised in the industry.


In our workshops, we prioritise predictive, corrective, and preventive maintenance scheduling, ensuring the reliability and safety of our buses. Led by experienced senior management actively involved in industry safety panels and advisory roles, we take a proactive approach to maintaining our fleet and depots.

Safety is driven into everything we do. Through proactive risk management strategies, we consistently enhance safety equipment and refine workshop processes to ensure the utmost safety for both our passengers and staff. Activities including vehicle pre-departure checks, performed by trained staff, adhere rigorously to contractual and safety standards.

As an ARCTICK approved repairer, our workshops are staffed by trades-certified professionals who conduct air conditioning servicing and repairs to the highest standards. Leveraging tools such as Driver Kiosks and tyre pressure monitoring and more, we prioritise vehicle safety and passenger comfort. Our maintenance program keeps track of fleet performance through the National Heavy Vehicle Inspection Scheme, government service quality audits, and customer feedback. Busways has consistently achieved a 98% defect-free rate in New South Wales.
