Stop and smell the roses at Gardenista with Busways

There will definitely be time to enjoy nature at its finest when you travel to the Comboyne Creative Gardenista 2022 with Busways this Spring.

Held on the beautiful Comboyne Plateau on the mid-north coast of NSW on the weekend of 12-13 November, Comboyne Gardenista showcases unique gardens and walks created by the local community on prestige rural properties amongst avocado and blueberry farms, set beside a beautiful lake.

As a key sponsor of the event, Busways will be running free, accessible shuttle buses to get you to these gorgeous gardens, starting from 9:30am to mid-afternoon on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November.

Gardenista is accessible to people of all abilities, as all the Busways shuttle buses are wheelchair and mobility friendly.

The free bus loop, provided by our Wauchope depot team, starts at the Comboyne Showground, then stops at Comboyne Wall Memorial Hall, followed by 5 garden stops before returning to the showgrounds.

Busways North Coast Service Delivery Manager, Mark Lawrence, said the Wauchope depot driving team are excited to give back to the Comboyne community.

“With the weather warming up now is the perfect time to visit Comboyne to support the local businesses and residents and see this beautiful region. We’re excited to be part of this event bringing life and vitality to the community following all the disruptions over the past couple of years from Covid-19 and flooding,” Mr Lawrence said.

During Gardenista there will be a display of beautiful, locally produced, arts and crafts at the Comboyne War Memorial Hall.

This will include:

•            A display of botanical couture. Dresses and accessories made entirely from botanical and found materials

•            Textiles and quilts by local artist Wendy Duffy

•            Floral displays highlighting the rich diversity of gardens on the Comboyne plateau

•            A display of Bonsai held by the Port Macquarie Bonsai Club.

There’s no need to pre-pack lunch as the rural gardens will be offering delicious food and drink options.

Gardenista is Creative Comboyne Association’s signature event. The Association is a volunteer led, non-profit, community-based organisation helping individuals, organisations and businesses with creative projects and events.

Busways encourages residents from surrounding areas such as Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Forster, Taree and Newcastle to attend this event to see firsthand the unique talents of locals using their green thumb on the gardens.

The event will be held at Comboyne Plateau, Comboyne Street Comboyne, NSW 2429.
