Hidden Disabilities
Not all disabilities are visible. Conditions such as autism, chronic pain, dementia, anxiety, and visual or hearing impairments – along with many others - can be unseen but still significantly affect daily life. For many people living with a hidden disability, navigating day-to-day tasks can be challenging, and it may not always be apparent to others.
Busways is committed to providing a positive and inclusive journey experience for the communities we service in NSW and Adelaide. Our goal is to ensure that every customer feels safe, supported, and confident while traveling on our network.
For customers with hidden disabilities, wearing the Sunflower Lanyard while waiting at a bus stop or traveling onboard one of our buses discreetly signals to our drivers that they may require extra time or assistance during their journey.
Sunflower Lanyards are available for customers who wish to order one through the Hidden Disabilities Website.
We are excited to see this initiative grow across Australia, helping individuals with hidden disabilities travel with greater confidence and comfort on our bus network.
