With spring in full force, enjoy a weekend of community events and family fun in Port Macquarie on the 29-30 October steeped in history, wine, coffee, and crafts with Busways.

Located at 235 Oxley Highway Port Macquarie, Douglas Vale Vineyard is hosting a family friendly event over the weekend called Celebrating Community in Port Macquarie. Leave the car at home, bring the family, pack a picnic, and let us do the driving as Busways will provide a free one-way bus shuttle loop service on Saturday the 29 October connecting event goers to three vibrant community festivals.

The shuttle is brought to you by our Port Macquarie team and will leave Port Macquarie Racecourse on the hour between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 29 October, taking passengers to the Douglas Vale Historic Homestead Community Festival, the Coffee Festival at the Port Macquarie Racecourse and the Craft Fair located at Panthers at Settlement City.

Marian Chisholm, Public Relations Officer from Douglas Vale Homestead and Vineyard stated, “Busways involvement will make all 3 festivals so much easier for elderly people, young families and those from outlying areas to attend and celebrate community in Port Macquarie”.

The Douglas Vale Historic Homestead and Vineyard offers patrons a unique taste of history and features a restored museum, vineyard and cellar door with the boutique vineyard producing six varieties of wine from handpicked grapes.

Supported by Resilience NSW and proudly funded by the NSW government, come along to enjoy a range of activities and events for all ages including:

  • Outdoor stage entertainment – bringing you music, song, and dance with a few surprises

  • Workshops – try your watercolour painting, beeswax wraps, circus skills, poetry and discover family history search tips.

  • Green Zone – plant sale, kid’s activities and swap a weed for a native plant.

  • Makers and Craft Area – have a go at pinch pots and sample local jams and honey.

  • Bamboo Sculptures – see local community members showcase their art.

Bring a fold up chair or a picnic rug and enjoy the atmosphere as food, drinks and barista coffee is on sale.

At Busways we encourage you to travel with us and join in festivities at the Douglas Vale Vineyard to meet new people, enjoy the exciting activities, and celebrate the Port Macquarie community.
