Adelaide Metro introduces Tap and Pay on buses
The new ‘Tap and Pay’ option for Adelaide public transport is now being rolled out across all Adelaide Metro buses.
The roll-out is part of a network-wide ticketing upgrade that’s designed to make public transport simpler, safer and easier to use.
Adelaide Metro Tap and Pay is already available with Visa or Mastercard on trams and O-Bahn buses, and will be available on all buses, including Adelaide Metro Outer South, by mid-2023. Trains will then follow.
As part of the network-wide ticketing upgrade, paper MetroTickets are being phased out and will no longer be accepted on buses from 1 July 2023.
Single trips and daytrips that were available as paper MetroTickets are now available on a metroCARD.
Customers can purchase singletrip or daytrip tickets from either the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre or their local metroCARD retailer on a metroCARD, and the metroCARD is FREE until 30 June!
For customers wanting to transfer between vehicles or travel with a concession fare, metroCARD remains the best option.
