Office Administration Trainee

The Opportunity

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Office Administration Trainee. The position is based at our support office in Pymble and will initially be based at reception, with the opportunity to assist other departments as required. This role will enable you to gain an understanding of each of the departments at Busways, what their core functions are and their responsibilities.

The Job

This is a challenging and ever changing position that will require you to be proactive, to work well with others and to think on your feet. It is an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly team environment. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake a traineeship in Business Administration, pending eligibility.

The responsibilities of this position will depend on your eagerness to learn and your strengths. General responsibilities could include, but is not limited to:

  • Daily organising and posting of mail
  • Answering the switchboard and directing all incoming calls
  • Running a variety of errands – this can include a range of tasks such as: picking up company catering orders or going to stores in the local area to pick up items for either staff or the office.
  • Printing, scanning or shredding large amounts of company documents
  • Completing monthly stationary orders
  • Being the first point of contact for visitors – greeting visitors, ensuring they sign in and notifying relevant staff members directly involved
  • Performing a wide range of kitchen duties – arranging, preparing and washing up the entire kitchen area as well as ensuring that the lunch club initiative is maintained and well taken care of
  • Ordering the necessary stock for our lunch club initiative on a weekly basis and ensuring that the appropriate stocktake is done to ensure the adequate amounts ordered are accurate
  • Performing a wide variety of tasks that present itself on a daily basis such as other administrative duties as required

The Successful Applicant should have:

  • A demonstrated team player attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allows you to adapt accordingly to your workload
  • A meticulous approach and attitude in being able to complete all tasks
  • A pro-active approach and take initiative in order to meet daily goals and targets whilst suggesting improvements to the role, when and if necessary
  • A motivated approach to learning as this is an autonomous role that will require you to be a fast learner
  • Intermediate level MS Office Skills

Essential Criteria:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • A drivers licence (P-Plates minimum)
