Busways supports Jeans for Genes Day 2016
08 Aug 2016
On the first Friday in August each year, workplaces, schools and streets become a sea of denim in a united stance against childhood disease. This year Busways again joined this stance.
Busways proudly supports Jeans for Genes Day each year and encourages staff to wear jeans at work to raise awareness in the community. Busways also matches employee donations up to $1,000.
Every dollar raised on the day helps scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures, to give every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.
The vital work of the scientists at CMRI is carried out with the single aim to improve and extend the lives of children everywhere. Currently 1 in 20 children is born with a congenital abnormality or genetic disease, that’s over 20,000 children born in Australia each year. CMRI is dedicated to changing that.
Medical research is the only way to discover cures for conditions affecting children such as cancer, epilepsy and a range of genetic defects.
We look forward to sharing the grand total of our donations with you soon!
