Busways supports the ‘Curtis Landers: Road to Recovery’ campaign

15 Jul 2014

Busways is proud to announce its support for the Curtis Landers: Road to Recovery campaign. Fifteen year old Curtis, a promising football player from the Forster-Tuncurry Hawkes tragically suffered a severe spinal injury in an under 15’s Rugby League match against the Port City Breakers on the 25th May 2014. Since this time Curt has been in both Royal North Shore and is now at Westmead Children’s Hospital undergoing rigorous rehabilitation.

Curtis’s team, the Great Lakes and Port Macquarie communities have rallied in support of Curt and his family in their time of need. Busways heard about Curt’s story through the Port City Junior Rugby League Club and will be providing a bus to take Port Macquarie players and their families down to the Auction Night being held on the 31st July at Club Forster, tickets for the auction night are available here. The Auction Night is being hosted by Ray Hadley and will include live crosses to the Footy Show on Channel 9.

Busways will also be supplying a bus to take all of Curt’s team down to Westmead Children’s hospital on Sunday 20th July  to help boost Curt’s endless spirit. To top off the visit, the NRL have kindly organised tickets for Curt, his family and entire team to attend the Bulldogs vs Tigers match on the same day, which Busways will also provide transport for.

To show your support, donations can be made at www.juniorhawks.com.au. You can also follow Curtis’ progress on Facebook at ‘Curtis Landers: Road to Recovery’.

The entire Busways team sends strength, love and courage to Curtis and his family at this time and hope that our contribution is able to help to lift the spirit of the Landers family.
