Busways Raises over $2K for the Black Dog Ride
08 Sep 2015
The ‘Busways Boys’, made up of five determined motorcycle riders from Busways Gosford participated in the Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre in an effort to raise funds and awareness for depression and suicide prevention.
From 15-22 August 2015, they embarked on an amazing journey, joining other Black Dog Riders in every state and territory to ride 3,500km throughout regional Australia, culminating in a national meet up in the Red Centre, Yulara and nearby Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park.
A BBQ was put on at the Gosford depot to farewell the boys, with family and friends in attendance to see the boys off on their two week adventure.
Employees from our depots company-wide showed their support for the epic ride, collectively raising $1020.10. Busways dollar matched all employee contributions up to $1,000, raising a total of $2020.10.
Proceeds from the funds raised will go towards supporting Lifeline Australia’s Online Crisis Support chat service and Mental Health First Aid’s Youth MHFA program in Australian secondary schools.
Busways is proud of the oustanding acheivement and committment shown by the Busways Boys towards a great cause.
