Busways Protected Action

02 Sep 2018

On Monday, September 3, some members of the Transport Workers Union (TWU) intend to take protected industrial action over ongoing negotiations for a new enterprise agreement for bus drivers.

All bus services, including school buses, will still operate to the normal timetable, however, some ticket machines will be unavailable to use.

The affected services include routes in Penrith, Blacktown and Windsor Local Government Areas as well as routes in Gosford and Wyong.

This will also affect the real time trip information on trip planning apps.

Negotiations have been taking place since late last year.

“We have put what we believe are three fair and reasonable offers on the table over the past few months”. Byron Rowe, Busways’ Managing Director, said.

“We want to be clear that we’re still in negotiations and working towards a solution. In good faith, we have approached Fair Work Australia to mediate conciliation.”

Busways appreciates the community’s understanding as we work to resolve these issues with the TWU.
