Busways Major Sponsor of the 5 Lands Walk
10 May 2016
Busways is proud to support the 5 Lands Walk festival on Saturday 25 June 2016 and will be providing free shuttle buses for attendees on the day.
The 5 Lands Walk is a 10 km coastal walk on the Central Coast which connects five festival sites (5 Lands) starting at MacMasters to Copacabana, Avoca, North Avoca and Terrigal.
Each land will have its own unique qualities and showcase cultural displays, Aboriginal ceremonies, music, art and food, providing people with free activities they can enjoy along the walking route.
“We suggest people allow themselves the whole day to enjoy the activities and experience,” said 5 Lands Walk organiser and President, Con Ryan.
“Walking the full route can take up to four to six hours, but people don’t have to complete the entire walk and can join and leave at any point they choose.”
“Busways will be operating free shuttle buses throughout the day to ensure people can easily navigate between the 5 Lands, and we’re thrilled to have their continued support again this year.”
Coordinating the transport logistics in the midst of the event’s growing popularity is Busways Wyong Controller, Stephen Graham.
“Participation for the walk has risen over the years and we have scheduled our shuttle services with this in mind. Our dedicated team of drivers are ready to ensure that operations run smoothly.”
“The 5 Lands Walk has something for everyone and we hope we can help people get the most enjoyment out of their day.”
The spiritual and cultural event is held on the traditional lands of the Darkinjung people, to coincide with the humpback whales' northern migration, marking the arrival of the winter solstice, an important cultural signifier for the Darkinjung people.
